The York Fringe Festival is a live arts festival that takes place every August in tandem with the YorkFest Fine Arts Festival in York, PA.

They provide a platform for innovative live arts open to local and regional artists of all ages. Participants of Fringe Fest present live performances in theatre, dance, music, spoken word, video and more at various venues across York City. These can span from original works to innovative twists on the classics.

The York Fringe aims to foster accessibility, inclusiveness and creativity in the live arts. In 2019, I was asked to design the second-annual York Fringe Festival poster, t-shirt and program. York Fringe focused on the arts, food and drink, and I tried to encompass the whole festival with this design.

The design

I chose to illustrate skeletons for two reasons: not assigning gender make calls to the arts being equal for all and it tied in Shakespeare which a lot of performances were based around.

The artwork for screen printed for t-shirts and posters for festival goers to purchase.

program

I carried design elements that I created throughout the program and used the color palette from their logo.
